MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATIONS
Writers of Kern has two categories of members: Active and Associate.
- Active members are paid members who are pursuing their writing.
- Associate members are non-writers who are involved in the broader writing field, including publishers, agents, editors, etc.
Annual Dues
WOK dues are set by the California Writers Club bylaws. Annual dues are payable on July 1 of each year. Active and Associate dues are $45 annually, which includes membership in CWC. An initiation fee of $20, plus the $45 annual dues is required to join. If you join between Jan 1 – June 30 there is a Half Year Member Fee of just $22.50 plus the $20 initiation fee. The $20 initiation fee is a one-time charge.
A lapsed membership means you were previously a member but did not pay your dues by September 30 (the membership year runs July 1 – June 30). To reinstate a lapsed membership, you must pay the $45 annual dues plus the $20 reinstatement fee. You’ll find the Lapsed Membership payment button further down this page.
Student member dues are $15 annually.
